UEW-LIVE:Central regional Minister and MP contradicts on school reopening

After closure of University of Education Winneba main and Ajumako campus as announced by the regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan with directive from the regional security council on Thursday,14th March 2019,there have been a lot of contradiction on closure and reopening. Student were given up to 6pm to vacate. Information reaching OlisbOnline indicates that students who stayed back and were spotted on campus were sacked by police with few who were later allowed to sleep and go home the next morning.

   However,there was an announcement later by the regional MP Hon.Afenyo Makins on the reopening of the school after about eight(8) hours of closure as captured on his official page "I am happy to inform all students that Regsec has ordered  the immediate reopening of the university. All UEW students are free to remain in the various halls of residence. The police have been duly informed hence no student will be prevented from entering campus. I urge all students to be law abiding"

The regional Minister today, on radio interview  has currently adviced student to wait for official reopening of School before coming back .He added he has not given anyone the mandate to announce reopening of school .
