
University of Education Winneba (UEW) main and Ajumako campus closed down indefinitely due to protests by the students who are requesting for the reinstatement of some dismissed lecturers. Report reaching OlisbOnline is that the peaceful demonstration is rescently going beyond control,hence the need for an immediate closure of the university as captured on school official site "The Winneba and Ajumako campuses of the University of Education, Winneba have been closed down indefinitely by the Regional Security Council.Students have been given up to 6pm to vacate campus"
There was also warning shots and teargas to disperse protesting students who were destroying school properties earlier this morning.
About 10 students are injured including a pregnant woman and currently receiving treatment at the university campus clinic.The University board however,assures parents an absolute security for their wards.
